This chapter was named after chapter 9 in Marvelous Land of Oz: "The Scarecrow Plans an Escape." While this adaptation has taken a bit of a departure from the original book at this point, we're still on roughly the same path as Ozma, Jack, Logan, and the Scarecrow all leave Emerald City for Winkieland.

If you're wondering why Mombi still hasn't arrived, it's because chapters 5-9 took place on the same day and Ozma had a 3-day head start on her. Also, she's probably not taking the same shortcut through the woods that our heroes took.
